    Title:
    [Delivered] Idle User Log Out
    User Story / Description:

New functionality allows RightNow to lock the account of a user who has been idle for a certain amount of thime.  This does not log them out of the system, but requires the user to enter their password again to continue.

We are aware of some users who lock their desktops at the end of the day and go home, leaving all applications logged in.  This uses a valuable concurrent log in slot...

Hi Guys...It does look like this feature is going to make the Nov. 2012 release but I'm waiting to see the release documentation for sure.  Looks like there will be a way to set an auto log out time based on idle / inactive time as well as the ability to force log out a user.  Not sure exactly what date the Nov. 2012 release will be available or when the release notes will be available but I'm certainly looking forward to this feature too.

Yes!!! This feature will be available in the November 2012 version to be released later this month.

      Hi All,

Would be really grateful if someone could guide me to this feature. is it a configuration setting ? I have searched across community but couldn't find anything relevant about how to use this feature.

Also would like to clear and get a better understanding of this feature , like does this feature automatically logout the agent from rightnow (Hard logout), such that next time if the agent wants to login , they would need to open rightnow and not just enter the password when there is some session time.

In documentation I came across the configuration settings to set CLIENT_SESSION_EXP or set session timeout in profile. But this only does a soft logout of the logged in agent.

Is there any setting using which we could close rightnow application itself after a specific period of time ?

      Regards,

      Jiju

      Hello Jiju,
It appears you found the inactivity config. There is another config setting for a hard timeout also. There's documentation on all of this, and that's likely your best source of info.

If you have further, specific questions, please update.

Thank you Keri for your reply.

Please correct me If I am wrong, the ‚ÄčSESSION_HARD_TIMEOUT is a Config setting which will be applicable across everyone who uses Rightnow, Is there any other similar setting which can be applied to certain specific profiles or groups only ?
