New Mailbox - Update sequence produces gap
    Content:

Hi all. We have attempted to create a new service mailbox but are receiving the error message "Update sequence produces gap". Can anyone explain what this error message indicates and how to track the cause please.

    Many thanks,

      Hi Lisa,

Update sequence produces gap- is a sequencing issue with the mailbox on your instance at the database level.Better to creating a support ticket with Oracle technical support team who can provide the fix from database end.

Thank you Deepu. We'll raise a support ticket as you suggest. Do you have any idea what might cause the issue? We haven't seen it before.

      Kind regards,

      Lisa

      Hi Lisa,

I've also encountered this error & have raised an SR, awaiting resolution. Did this get fixed for you and/or do you have any more info?

      Thanks

      Chris

      Hi Chris.

Yes it was resolved. The advice we received is as follows:

"... this is known issue, when you delete a mailbox, the seq value of other mailboxes will be crashed (less then 1 or there is gap between them), this will lead into the issue you met. As workaround, we will update the seq value from DB end, and will give you further update once done."

The issue was resolved quickly by Oracle :)
      Cheers,
      Lisa
