Title:
Is there a way to 'deactivate' a contact within RightNow?
Content:
Is it possible to deactivate a contact instead of deleting it? I see when we search the contact DB that there is the ability to search for a deactivated contact, but I have yet to see how to actually deactivate one.
Thank you.
Answer
You'll find a Disabled field in the Contacts table. If it's not currently on your Contact workspace you can add it and then change the value to Yes when you need to disable a contact. You can also disable contact records via rules, e.g. if a contact is identified as spam.

Hello Kyle,
This is an old post but I have a Q related to disbale feature of Contact in RN
So if we disable a contact in RN, can we still send mailings/campaigns?
Thanks,

Bhagwan, I'm not the resident expert on this so you may want to follow up with Customer Care to be sure. When you disable a contact record when editing an incident then the contact won't be able to submit incidents via the AAQ page and any messages sent from their account to the Service mailbox won't go through.
I'm not sure about the Marketing and Sales states though. I'm thinking you should still be able to send mailings to them and only the Service state is impacted. Perhaps someone else can confirm this or again, check with Customer Care.
