How to import attachment to the contact?

    Hi All,

How to import attachments (documents) to the contact object?

    • Pramod Vasudeva Murthy

There are 3 ways as I think of:

      • Web Services: Use SOAP or REST API to create a batch program.
      • cURL: Use CSV reader in a Custom script and use native Connect PHP API to create attachments
      • Batch using CRON: Just raise a SR to Oracle to update Contacts with attachments

Remember greatest difficulty here is to associate which file to which Contact this can be controlled to an extent by appending Contact ID to filename.

If the Contact is existing in another system and there is a bi-directional sync, then use unique ID's to match the records.

Try to follow the example documented here. (It should be an insight in addition to the Pramod's post).

      Thank you, Edson

      Hi S.Saravanan,

Were you able to find what you needed for this? Please give us an update either way so we can validate whether or not you received the answers you were looking for! This helps us as Community Managers measure the effectiveness of our Community, it allows the contributors to know where they are helping and it gives Members searching for similar information an understanding whether you were successful.

      Thanks again!
